On 14th July, 2014, the French – Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce was invited by H.E. Madame Ambassador Maryse Berniau and the Embassy of France in Lithuania to celebrate French National day – the Bastille Day – in presence of the Prime Minister of Lithuania in the Residency of France in Turniškės.
For the occasion, H.E. Madame Ambassador of France to Lithuania Maryse Berniau invited several hundred the most distinguished guests, including dignitaries from Lithuanian politics, business and culture as well as from foreign diplomatic corps, to the festively decorated Residency in French national colors – white, blue and red – in Turniškės to join in the celebration.
After the national anthems of France and Lithuania as well as of the European Union anthem, Mme Maryse Berniau welcomed with an introductory speech warmly rejoicing all guests gathered for the very special occasion “It’s a great joy to receive you all here” and thanked Lithuania for taking part in the military parade in Paris this year on the 14th of July to commemorate the centenary of the World War One, to which France invited 80 countries.
All guests were delighted by an impressive performance of NATO fighter jets above the Ambassador’s Residency to honor the French National Day celebration. The invitees could also enjoy live music performed by Evelina Sašenko as well as Lithuanian military orchestra, not forgetting a sophisticated cuisine and drinks.
Numerous distinguished guests, CCFL members and partners, as well as French compatriots settled in Lithuania greatly celebrated the Bastille Day in a wonderfull atmosphere. It was an amazing Monday evening !
