On 18th February, 2015, French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce and Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, in cooperation with French Embassy in Lithuania, Enterprise Europe Network – Lithuania and Law Firm Eversheds Saladžius invited their members to the Business Breakfast and visit of Santaka Valley in Kaunas.

KCCIC president Benjaminas Žemaitis opened the event and H.E. Ambassador of France Mme Maryse Berniau welcomed participants with an introductory speech.

Kaunas Mayor Andrius Kupčinskas rejoiced cooperation in Kaunas in his welcome address delivered by Adviser Aurimas Ramoška.

Christian Levon, Economic Counselor of the French Embassy in Lithuania, presented a global outlook of France’s attractiveness for Lithuanian companies. Vykintas Valiulis, Head of Tax Department of Grant Thornton Rimess, shared with the participants key tax aspects to consider while planning business in France. Overview of EU structural Funds and new EU financial perspective for 2014-2020 was given by Finance Ministry representative Aurimas Antanaitis. Insights on various funding sources analyzing legal strengths and discussing current trends of business financing were also presented during the business breakfast by Gerda Diniūtė, Senior Associate of Law Firm Eversheds Saladžius.

After the business breakfast, CCFL invited its members and colleagues to visit Santaka Valley, national open access research and experimental development (R&D) centre of international standards. Participants had a great opportunity to take a closer look at the Santaka Valley and get familiar with latest inventions. Kęstutis Morkūnas, Head of Technology Transfer unit, presented to the visitors various technologies such as: chemistry, biopharmacy, future energy, mechatronics, information and communication.
