On 14th September, 2016, MEDEF’s advisor to the President and Digital Ambassador Mr. Olivier Midière visited Lithuania.

Mr. Olivier Midière attended meetings in the Ministry of Transport and Communications, visited Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress centre (Litexpo) where he had an opportunity to learn about the Lithunian economy structure, business conditions, development of the IT sector and infrastructure of start-ups. Afterwards, Mr. O. Midière was welcomed by H.E. Ambassador of France Philippe Jeantaud together with business and political representatives.

Later on, Mr. O. Midière visited Barclays “Rise Vilnius” – start-up partnering space, where he engaged in the discussion about Lithuanian digital ecosystem and conditions for IT sector development in Lithuania. This meeting was followed by a visit to “Invest Lithuania”, where Mr. O. Midière could learn about Lithuanian innovation ecosystem, investment attraction and relocation of start-ups to Lithuania (game industry).

During the visit Mr. Olivier Midière had an opportunity to gain experience and learn about the Lithuanian economy, business environment, IT sector and infrastructure of start-ups. He also had a possibility to identify best practises in Lithuanian digital innovation and consider their application in France in order to accelerate the digital transformation of the French economy.

Movement of the Entreprises of France (MEDEF) is the largest French business confederation. It represents over 750 000 companies of all sizes throughout country operating in such different areas as industrial production, energy, construction, and banking. MEDEF is engaged in lobbying at local, regional, national and EU-wide levels.
