November 30, 2022

The French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce celebrated the centenary of diplomatic relations between France and Lithuanian at a Charity evening.

On 26 November, French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce has organized annual business awards and dedicated the evening for 100th anniversary of  diplomatic relations between France and Lithuania.  Representatives of businesses and institutions, entrepreneurs, partners doing business both in Lithuania and France gathered in the restaurant “Valdovai’.  During the evening the attention was brought to Vilnius Social Club which works with children and young people and provides them with educational and social support through football. Due to the financial difficulties, this club contacted the Chamber of Commerce and it was decided to start raising charity funds and to cooperate constantly during different events together.

The Chamber of Commerce organizes a traditional dinner every year, inviting everyone to come together not only to socialize and celebrate the upcoming holidays with a festive dinner, but also to contribute to good causes.

The French Ambassador to Lithuania, H.E. Ms Alix EVERARD, attended the ceremony and delivered a welcoming speech. The Ambassador said that it is more important than ever to be united, to foster cooperation between the countries and, of course, to do good deeds.

Another tradition of the evening is the awarding of prizes to deserving member companies, organised by the French Chambers of Commerce, all around the world. This year, the Chamber’s competition featured three categories, and the best companies were selected by a jury after evaluating the information provided in their applications on their activities, achievements, continuity of projects and lasting value. The following companies were awarded prizes at a ceremony:

– “Innovation 2022“ – Daržulis UAB, the first vertical farming business in the Baltic States, for its innovative and sustainable solutions for growing and producing food in the city.

– “Sustainability and Social Responsibility 2022” – to Eurovia Lietuva AB, one of the oldest and largest road construction companies in Lithuania, for the installation of a sustainable shelter to reduce the impact of humidity in the raw materials storage area, to save energy and to reduce the need for fuel for dryers.

– “Bilateral Success 2022” – Straikas UAB, the beverage brand Sip Sap, one of the largest birch sap producers in the world, for its successful and well thought-out entry strategy into the French market. Both Sip Sap and the company’s private label beverages are now available in more than 1 000 outlets in France and this number is always growing.

During the event, the participants were also treated to an unforgettable musical programme – a tour of the two countries’ most famous musical works, performed by the National Prize-winning Čiurlionis Quartet.
