A new board of directors to lead the French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce (CCFL) and further strengthen Franco-Lithuanian relations.

The French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Meeting on 4 May 2022 at its patron member, Hotel PACAI in Didžioji g. 7, Vilnius, Lithuania. This occasion was the election of the new board of the association.

On March 18th, the French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Šeimos Kredito Unija organized a Business Breakfast on Overall Business Financing Alternatives.

 

Taurimas Valys, international banker, Vilnius city councilman, and associate professor at Vilnius University Business School, led an interactive session on the different financing opportunities at any stage of a company’s maturity, from start-up to large company.

 

  • The first part of the presentation focused on the different means of financing for each stage of a company’s life, going from financial engineering instruments (backed by governments) to business angels through venture capitalists, crowdfunding, private equity fund,s or loans…
  • In a second part, Taurimas illustrated these different alternatives through his company Šeimos Kredito Unija.
 
The presentation was followed by a networking session among the participants and the teaser of the next event with Taurimas about the Public-Private Partnership. More info to come…

On Friday 25 February, the French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce held its conference “Money Laundering Situation, Evolution and Cyberspace” in partnership with ISM.

  • The first part of the conference was a keynote speech by Eric Vernier, the dean of ISCID CO International Business School in France and a world-renowned expert in anti-money laundering techniques. Mr. Vernier presented a state of the art and latest statistics about money laundering.
  • After the presentation, Mr. Vernier has been joined by several experts for a round table discussion:
    • Alexandre Pinot, Head of Global Expansion at Arival Bank
    • Aurelija Balčiūnė, Managing Associate in the Banking and Finance Practice Group at Cobalt
    • Eglė Andzevičiūtė, Head of AML/CFT & Complicity – MLRO at Paydoo

The panel discussion was moderated by Anthony Poullain, Vice-President of the French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce and President of Cargo Stream France.

On Tuesday 22nd February, the French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce organized an event to celebrate the Day of Restoration of the State of Lithuania. A convivial moment shared by the members of the CCFL and our business community!

 A pleasant evening with the programme :

  • Lithuanian wine from all over the world, and appetizers to accompany it.
  • It was an opportunity to appreciate and see artworks by the world-famous Lithuanian photographer Antanas Sutkus, that has won more than 80 awards in his career.
  • A speech by Arūnas Starkus on behalf of the President of the Chamber Rasa Starkus, and a speech by the Vice President Anthony Poullain, followed by a tasting of wines and networking .
 

The French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure to have the presence of the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Lithuania, H. E. Alix Everard.

BPI France to support companies' development

On Friday 21 January at the French Embassy, some members of the CCFL as well as representatives of the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEF) were able to attend a presentation of BPI France’s activities by Virginie Poncet, Senior Advisor of the International and European Affairs Department.

 

Ms. Poncet presented the support mechanisms for French companies wishing to expand abroad and the assistance provided to companies developing their R&D in France.

On Wednesday 15th December, we hosted our Christmas event to gather its members in a cozy atmosphere and to highlight our community with our annual Business Awards. The Chamber’s business awards are a celebration of our members and to promote and showcase the great work, dedication, involvement of our members to Lithuania and to France.
