Chamber news

March 13, 2023

Vilnius, Lithuania – On March 9, a business delegation from the CCFL (French- Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce) arrived in Alytus for a series of meetings and factory tours. The delegation included executives and representatives from various French businesses as well as board members and team of CCFL interested in exploring trade and investment opportunities in Alytus.

The highlight of the visit was a meeting with the Mayor of Alytus, Nerijus Cesiulis, at the Alytus City Hall. During the meeting, the delegation discussed various topics related to business, investment, economic development and living in Alytus.

After the meeting, the delegation visited three local factories to gain a better understanding of the Lithuanian manufacturing sector. The first stop was Alita, a leading producer of alcoholic beverages in Lithuania part of MV Group. The delegation learned about the company’s production process, product portfolio, and export activities as well as investment plan for the coming years.

Next, the delegation visited GlassLT, a glass processing company that specializes in the production of tempered and laminated glass for various industries. The delegation received a guided tour of the factory and learned about the company’s advanced production technologies.

Finally, the delegation visited Kauno Grūdai, a leading Lithuanian producer of grain products. The delegation learned about the company’s visions and mission, product range, and export activities.

The delegation ended its mission with a visit to the Alytus vocational training centre. There, the delegation was able to meet and discuss with the students as well as explore the different facilities used in their training. The centre shared various international agreements with more than 10 French educational institutions.

Speaking about the visit, the President of the CCFL, Anthony Poullain, said, “I have lived in Lithuania for 16 years. For personal reasons, Alytus was the first Lithuanian city I visited. As President of the French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, it is not my intention to focus solely on Vilnius. When I visit France and meet potential investors, I do not want to present business opportunities only in the capital, I want to present all business opportunities in Lithuania to business representatives. Today we have come to find out how we can present Alytus to potential French investors.”

The visit of the business delegation from CCFL to Alytus is a testament of the willingness to grow economic ties between France and Lithuania. The visit is expected to contribute to the further development of trade and investment relations between the two countries.

Thanks to the municipality of Alytus for its welcome and to the representatives of Alita, GlassLT, Kauno Grūdai and Alytus vocational center for their availability in sharing their projects and opening their companies to our delegation.

Chamber News | EFE International, a solution for French companies abroad

Chamber news

October 17, 2022

EFE International Supporting French Entrepreneurs Abroad

The CCFL participated to French webinar “EFE INTERNATIONAL” organized by expat.com in partnership with EFE International on the topic: Supporting French entrepreneurs abroad on October 13th.

EFE International is a structure co-founded by the National Committee of French Foreign Trade Advisor (CCEF) and the CCIFI in order to support as effectively as possible the French Entrepreneurs Abroad (EFE), in particular by ensuring the portage of International Volunteers (VIE) in companies or by providing financing solutions.

The main topic discussed was recruiting young French talent.

Thanks to EFE International, you can now strengthen your team by recruiting qualified human resources through the V.I.E. formula.

Are you a French company abroad?
This offer is intended for companies meeting the following criteria:

  • You are a French company abroad ?
  • You have created and/or run a company in your country of residence.
  • Your activity contributes to the French economy.
  • You contribute to the development of France’s foreign trade.
  • You represent, import or distribute French products or services.
  • You promote France and French know-how in your country of residence.
  • You recommend the use of French products or know-how in your professional activity.

EFE International’s mission
EFE International advises and accompanies you through all the steps involved in setting up a V.I.E. contract:

  • Management, support and administrative follow-up of your V.I.E in accordance with Business France.
  • Assistance in the selection of your future V.I.E.
  • Management of financial compensation.
  • Follow-up of your V.I.E’s mission and activity report.

Eligibility
To evaluate your eligibility for the V.I.E. program:

  • Contact your local French Chamber of Commerce or the local committee of French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCE).
  • Put together your eligibility file and submit your application to your local committee, which will analyze your application.
  • If your application is accepted, you will obtain the “EFE Label” which will give you access to the V.I.E. program.

Condition of access

Once the “EFE Label” has been obtained, a strategic committee will study your profile and authorize you to enter the capital of EFE International SAS.
This mechanism creates a legal link between EFE and France and allows you to access new services that were previously inaccessible.
Once you have joined EFE International, you will be able to submit your V.I.E. application through EFE International in Paris.

It is therefore a real facilitation tool to support the businesses of French people abroad.

Chamber News | Our business community supported the Lithuanian team at the world championship for women’s and men’s amateur golf in France

Chamber news

September 7, 2022

Our business community supported the Lithuanian team at the world championship for women's and men's amateur golf in France

Last Saturday was the las day of The Espirito Santo Trophy, the world championship for women’s and men’s amateur golf teams, that took place from 22 August to 3 September in France. The tournaments took place in the famous Le Golf National and Golf-de-Saint-Nom-la-Breteche courses.  It is worth mentioning that Le Golf National will be hosting the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
We are proud that this year the French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce has contributed to the team’s preparations.

Lithuanian teams were represented by:

Women’s team players:
 Gilė Bitė Starkutė
Saulė Jarašūnaitė
Miglė Rusteikaitė
Captain Arūnas Starkus

Men’s team players:
Giedrius Mackelis
Deivydas Ražinskas
Paulius Malcius
Captain Gediminas Mackelis

Both teams are coached by Finnish coach Ari Salvolainen

This is not the first time that Lithuanians have participated in a championship of this level, however this time we had complete teams and Lithuania was represented maximum. Lithuanian golf is still a young sport, barely more than a decade old. However, we are already seeing great young players training hard and able and willing to represent our country in the world. It is true that for golf to be able to develop its own athletes, there is still a lot of work to be done, not only by the athletes themselves, but also by the organizations that could  contribute to the development of the sport. And that requires the trust in the idea that golf is the sport that can send representatives of its country to the Olympic Games, because golf is an Olympic sport.

The Lithuanian Golf Federation is grateful to all the sponsors who helped these teams to go to the World Championships and gain experience in team competitions and individual events. This year,
the French-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, stylist Kęstas Rimdžius, Cargo Stream, Sip Sap, Wine Club, Golfcity took an active initiative.

2022 World Championship achievements:

Women’s team: 56 teams participated, 168 women in the individual competition.
Team Lithuania finished 51st. The best team promise was Gilė Bitė Starkutė in 39th place. She is currently ranked 263rd in the WAGR World Ranking.

Men’s team : 71 teams participated, 213 men in the individual competition

The Lithuanian men’s team was ranked 48th, with Giedrius Mackelis, the team’s top scorer, in 119th place.
We thank the athletes and those who supported them and wish them success and new achievements in the future.

Volunteering day on the International Day of Charity at Maisto Bankas

On such an occasion, we are happy to take part in it.

Maisto Bankas gladly took us in where we volunteered at their warehouse. Besides doing the work, we got an opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful people who help positively impact lives on a daily basis.

Some keys figures about today:

1976 kg, almost two tons, of food was brought to Vilnius warehouse today from retailers (IKI, Rimi, Vikis, Maxima, Mon Ami) and logistic centers. The food was distributed to social organizations in the afternoon.

This means:

  • 5730,4 kg of CO2 emission were saved;
  • 380 000 liters of fresh water were used to produce all this food. It would have gone in vain if all this food went to landfill.
  • this amount of food will turn into 3952 meals for people.

In 2021 “Maisto bankas“ saved 6045 tons of food from getting wasted:

  • 17530 tons of CO2 emission saved;
  • 1149 mln liters of fresh water saved;
  • 12 mln meals.

Every second month Maisto bankas“ distributes 70 000 – 80 000 food packages.
