French-based renewable energy company Idex Baltic is the largest independent heat producer in Lithuania. The company owns five biofuel boiler houses and one cogeneration power plant in Vilnius and Kaunas, which together produce about 15 percent of the heat energy required for the centralised heating sector in Lithuania annually. The biofuel used for heat production by the company allows to reduce the amount of CO2 pollution and gas import.
