A TASTE OF BRITTANY IN DARBĖNAI: “MIAMMIAM GUINGUETTE” JOINS THE INTERNATIONAL “GOUEL BREIZH” FESTIVAL

On May 22, 23 and 24, the crêperie “MiamMiam Guinguette”, located in Darbėnai, invites visitors to
celebrate the Festival of Brittany — an event dedicated to flavors, encounters, and the Breton art of living.

This year, “MiamMiam Guinguette” is joining the international Breton festival GOUEL BREIZH,
celebrated since 2009 in several countries around the world and bringing together lovers of Breton culture
throughout the world. The aim is to introduce and promote the unique identity of Brittany through what
brings people together most: a vibrant culture shaped by gastronomy, language, traditions, and conviviality.
Note that the aroma of Breton crêpes has already been filling Darbėnai for four summer seasons!

Located by the Darbėnai pond, “MiamMiam Guinguette” is a little corner of France in the heart of nature
that has been attracting visitors from all over Lithuania for the past four years. People come not only to
enjoy authentic Breton buckwheat galettes and genuine Breton cider, but also to experience a unique
atmosphere: peaceful evenings, unhurried conversations, a relaxing ambiance, and a truly warm French
spirit.

At the heart of this place, Olivier Criou, a Breton originally from Finistère, and his wife Rima, have been
sharing Breton gastronomic traditions in Lithuania for many years.

“We are creating a small corner of Brittany in Darbėnai — a place where people can not only taste
authentic flavors but also experience the Breton joie de vivre. I would also like to mention that I organize
gastronomic trips to Brittany, and I am currently forming groups for the month of October,” says Olivier.

During the festival, visitors will be able to discover exceptional Breton products, including:
– Traditional Breton galettes and crêpes;
– Breton ciders, the essential pairing for crêpes;
– Breton natural wines; from new and promising vineyards;
– Chouchen, a mead inspired by Celtic traditions;
– Breton butter desserts such as Kouign-Amann and other authentic flavors from the Atlantic coast;
– Seaweed from the Breton coastline;
– And of course, artichokes, which are currently in peak season in Brittany and symbolize the region.

Visitors will also can hear Breton stories, discover anecdotes about Brittany, its language and maritime
culture, and even learn a few words of Breton.

“We want people to experience not only the flavors, but also the Breton spirit — a little wild, maritime,
lively, and deeply welcoming,” explain Olivier and Rima.

The organizers invite everyone to take a short journey to Brittany — a region where Celtic culture, Atlantic
winds, simple and authentic cuisine, quality products, and a unique art of living come together.
